'Leadership'

Introduction

In the debate between strategy and tactics - which of them is the more important - strategy must always win. Businesses with good strategy can survive poor tactics, but businesses with good tactics and a poor strategy are racing headlong towards disaster.

Strategy

Strategy must come first, but how easy is it to consider the big questions when the pressures of today are weighing down on you? This is the purpose of our strategy workshops - to give you the space to consider, and to reconsider, to understand the implications of your strategy on the financial health of the business and then, most importantly of all, to ensure that you turn your strategy into action.

Leadership

No matter how good the strategy, it can only succeed if the business is provided with the appropriate leadership - and that's why we link these two vital components of business success together.

Ironically, the flatter the structures found in today's businesses and the more network-based organisation, both raise the challenge for leadership. Leadership in the old hierarchies was easy, and pretty much from the top, but where a wide range of people are called on to lead, whether it be a business, a project, a campaign or a customer team, then it becomes very clear that attitudes and behaviours must be adapted, and new skills learned throughout the organisation.
